Introduction

Objectives and Mission


The mission of faculty of management's Bachelor in information Management (BIM) program is to develop social responsible ,scientific approached, result oriented information technology (IT) professional .The BIM program is designed to equip graduates with the skills and efficient information technology professionals. The specific objectives of the program are to:

  • Prepare IT professional proficient in the use of computers and computational techniques in order to develop effective information system to solve real life problems in the organizational milieu.

  • Develop student's skill in object -oriented software design methods and data management systems.

  • Provide professional training to student by combing information technology with managerial skills.

  • Prepare students to proceed on to post graduate level study in information management within and outside the country.
  • Prepare IT professional proficient in the use of computers and computational techniques in order to develop effective information system to solve real life problems in the organizational milieu.

  • Develop student's skill in object -oriented software design methods and data management systems.

  • Provide professional training to student by combing information technology with managerial skills.

  • Prepare students to proceed on to post graduate level study in information management within and outside the country.

 

The candidates applying for BIM program must have :

  • Successfully completed a twelve -year schooling or equivalent from any university, board or institution recognized by Tribhuvan university.
  • Secured a minimum of second division in the twelve year schooling or equivalent.
  • Compiled with all the application procedures

Teaching Padagogy 

The general teaching methodology includes class lectures, group discussion, case studies, practical exercise, laboratory work, project work, and term papers. The teaching faculty according to the needs of the course will determine the choice of the teaching methodology.
The concerned teacher/instructor shall develop a detailed course outline and work plane at the beginning of each semester and also recommend the basic text and other reference materials for teaching-learning of the course modules
 

Industrial Attachment Project

Students during the eight semester shall be attached to organizations where they have to work for period of eight weeks. Each student shall prepare an individual report in the prescribed format based on his or her work in the respective organization assigned to him/her. Evaluation of the industrial attachment shall be based on the project report. The report must be submitted by the end of the English semester. Students must secure a grade 'c' in the industrial attachment project. The industrial attachment project report shall carry a value equivalent to 6 credit hours.

Examination, Evaluation and Grading System

The BIM program will be executed through the semester system.There will be altogether eight semesters required to complete the regular program. The internal(on going) evalution shall carry 40 percent weight while the external (end of semester) examination shall carry 60 percent weight. The final grade shall be determined on the overall performance in internal and external examinations
Passing Grade and Grading System
Students must secure a minimum of grade 'C' or Grade Point Average(GPA) of 2.0 in the internal evalution in order to qualify to appear in the semester examination. The passing grade in the semester examination for an individual paper is also grade 'D' or GPA of 1.5.In order to pass the semester examination the student must secure Grade 'C' or the average Commulative Grade Point Average(CGPA) of 2.0.
 
Students who secure a Semester Grade of 'D' is not promoted to the next semester.
